October 14, 2009 - text and photos under construction

There are a number of spectacular port & city views which immediately come to mind in this world.  Alameda's unobstructed view across the Bay to the San Francisco skyline has to rank right up there with Hoboken or Brooklyn across to Manhattan, Kirribilli across to the Sydney Opera House, or Kowloon across to Hong Kong Island. It is really something special.

Alameda MapAlameda's proximity to the Bay keeps the weather generally cool, sometimes foggy, but also allows for the best views across toward the San Francisco skyline from the Shoreline Drive beach or from the former Naval Air Station on the north end of town.
